Our Story
Wadden Electric started in 2013 as a one-man electrical company in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Jonathan Wadden — a licensed electrician with a passion for technology — saw an opportunity that most contractors missed: homeowners wanted their electrical, lighting, audio, security, and automation handled by one team, not five separate companies.
What began as service calls and small renovations grew into Atlantic Canada's leading residential integration firm. Today, Wadden Electric designs and installs complete smart homes — from the electrical panel to the final lighting scene. We're a Control4 Authorized dealer in Atlantic Canada, a certified Lutron Gold dealer, and authorized partners for every major brand in the industry.

Leadership
CEO & Founder
Licensed electrical contractor turned smart home architect. Jonathan founded Wadden Electric in 2013 and built it into a trusted Control4 Authorized dealer serving Atlantic Canadaship. He personally programs every flagship system and oversees design on every project. When he's not on a job site, he's testing new technology in his own fully integrated smart home in Hubbards.
General Manager
JD runs the day-to-day. He manages field crews, coordinates project schedules, handles client communication, and makes sure every job stays on time and on budget. He's the bridge between the office and the job site — if something needs to happen, JD makes it happen.
Operations Manager
Kirsten keeps the engine running. Project coordination, scheduling, invoicing, onboarding, and every administrative detail that makes a growing company work. She's the person who ensures nothing falls through the cracks — from purchase orders to final invoices.

Leads AV installations, camera systems, alarm programming, and Control4 system configuration. DTools expert and field lead on all integration projects.
Estimating
Handles electrical takeoffs in Accubid and AV system BOMs. Converts drawings into accurate proposals that keep projects on budget from day one.
Operations
Bridges field and office operations. Manages pricebook administration, supports project tracking, and keeps the transition from estimate to installation seamless.

Site foreman on large residential builds. Manages rough-in, panel work, and coordinates with GCs. Red Seal journeyman with new construction expertise.

Leads service upgrades, panel swaps, and renovation electrical. Handles complex troubleshooting and ensures code compliance on every job.
